About Us

About Pitman Animal Hospital

Dr. Robert Harris founded Pitman Animal Hospital in 1987 as a small, one-doctor facility. Pitman Animal Hospital blossomed, and in 2002 Dr. Harris began construction on a new practice. We opened our current Pitman Veterinary Hospital location in March of 2004.

Today, as a multi-doctor practice, we have extensive expertise and experience in many different areas, and we provide the highest quality veterinary medicine for the well-being of your pet.

Community Involvement

Pitman, New Jersey, has been home to Pitman Animal Hospital for more than 25 years, and we are always trying to give back as much as we can to a community that has supported us.

Pitman Animal Hospital staff members participate in pet fairs and other pet-related events in the Gloucester County area. Staff veterinarians provide services for municipal no-cost rabies vaccination clinics. We also provide medical care for shelter animals at Gloucester County Animal Shelter.

Dr. Harris has volunteered and served on the board of Gloucester County Habitat for Humanity for many years. He has participated in several trips abroad and the U.S. for Habitat for Humanity and other organizations that send construction teams to areas in need.

Dr. Harris has also worked with inner-city youth as a volunteer on outdoor learning experiences (e.g., kayaking, hiking, and camping) for Urban Trekkers, a part of Urban Promise, which is based in Camden, NJ.
